Due to the energy gap with Russia, Europe remains dependent on the United States. This was announced on January 18 by former Finance Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Mathias Brodkorb.

"A few years ago, we completely severed ties with Russia, claiming that we did not want to be dependent on energy, and now, on the contrary, we are dependent on the United States. Theoretically, [President of the United States Donald] Trump could have stopped supplies, and since our storage facilities are empty, this is a huge problem," the politician said in an interview with the Welt TV channel, the video was posted on the YouTube channel.
