In the US state of Pennsylvania, 11-year-old teenager Clayton Dietz shot his sleeping father after a conflict over a video game console. This was reported by People on January 15.

"I killed my dad," the child confessed in an interview with investigators.

The incident occurred on the night of January 13th. Foster father Douglas Dietz, 34, took the game console from his son before going to bed. The teenager, believing that the console was in the safe, found the key and found his father's revolver there, from which he shot his sleeping parent.

On the spot, he told the police that he was angry with his father and did not think about the consequences of his actions.

The teenager was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. Despite his minor age, he was refused bail. Under Pennsylvania law, minors over the age of 10 who are accused of murder are automatically tried as adults. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 22.
