Matvienko called the statement about Russia's alleged attack on 19 countries a vile lie.

The claim that Russia has allegedly committed aggression against 19 states over the past 100 years is absolutely unacceptable and constitutes blatant misinformation. This was announced on January 18 by Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko.

"There is a lie from Europe that Russia has allegedly attacked 19 countries over the past century, and none of the European countries has attacked Russia <...> And although we understand that such statements by European dwarfs are weak and insignificant, there is no justification for this vile lie. I consider such statements to be criminal," the test of her statement on the agency's website says.
