- A captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about the ban on taking the bodies of his colleagues in Gulyai-Pole
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has banned the military from taking the bodies of their colleagues in Gulyai-Pole, despite the corridor provided by Russia. This was stated by a captured Ukrainian militant.
"When we retreated, the Russian Army offered us to take the dead. <...> But we were told that no, no one would take anyone," the prisoner told TASS.
He clarified that for the first time he thought about surrendering after the Russian army offered to pick up the dead militants.
On January 10, Alexander Shakura, a prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that he was fraudulently sent to the front line, hiding the real conditions of service. Shakura shared that he had repeatedly asked about his service life and wondered when he would be sent home. To the prisoner's numerous questions, the command replied that "no one will ever change him from here."
