As GOROD48 explains, water gets into the buttons, which freezes them. People have to wait for someone on the other side to come up and push. Residents are afraid of accidents with children who are forced to cross the road at schools.

The press service of the city administration informed the agency that the button at the traffic light at Petrovsky Market had been repaired, and the Lipetsk City Light brigade was working on the traffic light at the Avtodor stop.

According to the mayor's office, Lipetsk City Light employees drive around traffic lights every day, check their operation and fix problems. However, it is impossible to be at all traffic lights at the same time.

Earlier it was reported that push-button traffic lights will be installed in Chita in areas of heavy public and motor transport in 2026. Mayor Inna Shcheglova said that citizens have already become accustomed to using push-button traffic lights, but acts of vandalism are being recorded. Pedestrians break the buttons, they have to be changed frequently.
