Russians named profitable cities for travel in February

Prices for hotels in February decreased significantly compared to January in a number of popular tourist destinations. The end of the New Year holidays and a decrease in demand made it possible to offer holidays at the end of winter for more than 50% cheaper. On January 18, analysts of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service told Izvestia about this.

In Russia, according to their data, the most significant drop in prices was recorded in the cities of the Golden Ring. Kostroma became the leader, where hotel accommodation has fallen in price by 70%, and the average cost of a room is now 4.3 thousand rubles per day.

"In Yaroslavl, prices decreased by 55% (to 4.9 thousand rubles), in Suzdal and Vladimir — by 51% (to 9.7 thousand and 6.1 thousand rubles, respectively). A significant discount is also available in Ryazan, which has been included in the extended route of the Bolshoy Golden Ring, where accommodation has become 56% cheaper (5.2 thousand rubles per day). The top 10 affordable destinations also include Veliky Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Pskov, Vyborg and Tula with price reductions from 44 to 51%," the study said.

Among foreign destinations, the Turkish resort of Kemer has become the absolute leader in cheaper prices, where booking a hotel in February will cost 84% less than in January — an average of 6.6 thousand rubles per day. Minsk is in second place with a 56% discount (7.3 thousand rubles), while Montenegro's Budva is in third place, where prices have fallen by 51% (to 4.3 thousand rubles). The list also includes Uzbek Samarkand, Turkish Belek and Alanya, Hungarian Budapest, Vietnamese Phu Quoc, Egyptian Sharm el Sheikh and Thai Patong, where the decrease ranged from 19 to 28%.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that in the winter of 2026, Russians will go on vacation to ski resorts in Sochi, Sheregesh, Kirovsk, Krasnoyarsk and Arkhyz. France, Italy, Georgia, Belarus and Kazakhstan are chosen among the foreign mountain routes.
