Suleiman Kerimov's daughter initiated proceedings against Switzerland

Gulnara, the daughter of billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, initiated the first ever investment dispute against Switzerland over sanctions. This was reported by the Asari Legal Law Office.

"The Asari Legal team represents Gulnara Kerimova in investment arbitration proceedings against the Swiss Confederation based on the Agreement between the USSR and Switzerland on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments dated December 1, 1990," the bureau said in a statement posted on its official website.

The essence of the dispute lies in the protection of investments and compliance with international obligations by States under the conditions of sanctions restrictions. Asari Legal stressed that this case has a precedent value, and became the first investment dispute against Switzerland on sanctions issues.
