The doctor gave advice for safe bathing at Epiphany
Dmitry Smirnov, a general practitioner at Lobnya Hospital, gave advice on how to bathe at Epiphany without harm to health. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow region on Thursday, December 15.
Experts advise against winter bathing for people with cardiovascular diseases, blood pressure problems, who have suffered a heart attack or stroke, as well as in the presence of acute and chronic inflammation. The risk group also includes patients with respiratory diseases, children, pregnant and lactating women, as well as the elderly.
According to Smirnov, it is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol before diving, as it disrupts thermoregulation. According to him, before swimming, it is necessary to warm up with light exercises, approach the hole in comfortable non-slip shoes, and limit your stay in the water to 20-30 seconds. After going out, it is important to dry off quickly, change into dry warm clothes and keep warm, for example, with hot tea, Radio 1 reports.
In addition, the specialist emphasized that swimming is allowed only in specially equipped places, without diving and jumping into the water, preferably not alone. In case of any sudden deterioration of health, you should immediately seek medical help, notes 360.ru .
