Russia has not yet used its full military potential, and this factor plays a key role in the context of possible negotiations. Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov announced this on January 15 in his Telegram channel.

In his opinion, US President Donald Trump, who is counting on a diplomatic breakthrough, soberly assesses the situation on the line of contact, where, according to Dzhabarov, Kiev is actually suffering defeat.

The senator also commented on the expected visit to Russia by US President's special envoy Steven Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law, businessman Jared Kushner. He noted that such contacts can become a good basis for further dialogue.

"It's always better to talk than to sit with your opinion," Jabarov concluded.

On the same day, the Polish publication Interia reported that the new tactics of Russian troops using unmanned Sirius-82 boats in the Dnieper River delta could seriously complicate the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to the newspaper, citing sources, the Ukrainian units had not previously encountered such unmanned boats, and "no one has seen such drones yet."

Prior to that, on November 14, 2025, the BI portal reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation began using fiber-optic cable-controlled drones with a range of up to 50 km, which disrupted Ukrainian logistics.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
