The State Duma proposed to make the family mortgage rate differentiated
In Russia, they want to make the family mortgage rate dependent on the number of children in the family. This was announced by the head of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets Anatoly Aksakov on January 13.
"Today, regardless of the number of children born into a family, they receive a preferential mortgage at 6%, and there are no special incentives to increase the birth rate in this regard. Therefore, it is proposed to link interest rates with the number of children born in a family," Aksakov said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
It is noted that after the birth of the first child, the preferential mortgage rate will be 10%, after the second — 6%, and after the third — 4%. The head of the State Duma committee also clarified that the mortgage rate will also decrease as the key rate decreases.
Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, said in an interview with Izvestia on December 29 that the family mortgage rate in Russia can be automatically reduced at the birth of children. According to him, such a mechanism should be fixed in legislation to further stimulate the birth rate. He explained that the idea implies a flexible approach to family support: if the mortgage was issued with one child at a higher rate, then after the birth of the second or third child, the loan conditions should improve without the need for a new mortgage.
