On January 13, the Minister of Health of Kuzbass, Andrei Tarasov, confirmed the deaths of infants in a maternity hospital in Novokuznetsk, which was later quarantined.

"The situation has occurred. Proceedings are currently underway. A commission from the Ministry of Health visited to assess and prevent the situation. After the verification is completed, we will provide official information," the minister said during a live broadcast on social networks.
