Rescuers reminded of safety rules on snow slides
Employees of the Moscow Regional Fire and Rescue Service conducted preventive raids in places of mass winter recreation for residents of the Moscow region. On the spontaneous snow slides, rescuers talked with vacationers and reminded them of the risks of riding on unprepared slopes, explaining the basic safety rules.
Anatoly Plevako, First deputy head of the department, explained that slides should be chosen for skiing, located away from trees, poles, fences, roadways and reservoirs. He also stressed that children should ride only under the constant supervision of adults, Radio 1 reported on January 11.
Rescuers recommend giving preference to exclusively equipped slides and teaching children the rules of behavior in advance — to follow the queue, climb the steps and not linger in the braking zone. In addition, the specialist reminded that skating with your head or back forward is unacceptable, as this deprives you of control over movement. According to him, the most effective way of learning remains a personal example of responsible adult behavior.
