According to her, long-term storage of raw meat and fish is especially undesirable.
"Such products secrete juices rich in proteins, which are an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. Plastic containers that are used more than once are often difficult to completely disinfect," explained Filinskaya.
The expert also warned about the risks of storing acidic, fatty and highly aromatic foods.
"Pay attention to the labeling and in case of planned long—term storage of the products listed above, choose glass or metal containers — they are safer, more durable and easier to disinfect," she said.
