Prima ballerina Zakharova confirmed the cancellation of her performance in Florence

The prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater, Svetlana Zakharova, in an interview with Izvestia on January 9, confirmed the cancellation of her performance in Florence.

"Unfortunately, I confirm the cancellation of the concerts in Florence. You already know the reasons for the cancellation. I don't want to comment on this event," Zakharova said.

She also noted that she felt sorry for the audience who wanted to attend the performance.

The cancellation of Zakharova's performance, which was scheduled to take place at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence on January 20 and 21, became known on the same day. La Nazione newspaper clarified that the decision to cancel was made after an appeal from the Ukrainian Embassy in Florence. It was claimed that it described Zakharova's upcoming speech as unacceptable.
