Rospotrebnadzor revealed intestinal infection in children poisoned at Sochi hotel
An acute intestinal infection, genotype II norovirus, was detected in young rugby players who were poisoned in one of the Sochi hotels where they stayed for subsequent participation in competitions. This was announced on January 8 by the press service of the Rospotrebnadzor office in the Krasnodar Territory.
"In the first hours after the identification of the sick children, the pathogen, norovirus genotype II, was detected in the laboratory of the Rospotrebnadzor Department for the Krasnodar Territory. <...> The situation remains under the control of the Rospotrebnadzor Department for the Krasnodar Territory," the agency said in a Telegram message.
