French cinema icon Brigitte Bardot has died due to cancer. This was announced on January 7 by her husband Bernard D'ormal.

Actress Brigitte Bardot died on December 28, 2025. On the day of her death, fans of the French actress and animal rights activist came with flowers to her villa "La Madrag" in the vicinity of Saint-Tropez, the entrance to the territory of which is cordoned off by the gendarmerie. The Saint-Tropez City Hall noted that Bardot "left a noticeable mark on the history of the city" and contributed to its worldwide fame.

BFM TV reported on December 29 that Bardot will be buried on January 7 at the cemetery in Saint-Tropez.
