Witkoff and Kushner to attend Coalition of Willing meeting
Special Envoy of the President of the United States Stephen Witkoff and the son-in-law of the American leader and businessman Jared Kushner will take part in a meeting of the "coalition of willing" to provide assistance to Ukraine in Paris. This was reported by the French TV channel TF1 with reference to the Elysee Palace.
It is reported that the parties will discuss "a common vision of the parameters of the proposed ceasefire, a reaction to its possible violations and the possibility of deploying multinational forces to insure Ukraine."
As TF1 explained with reference to the adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron, regarding the presence of foreign troops in Ukraine, "only what military secrecy allows will be announced."
For the first time, U.S. representatives will be present in person at this meeting, created on the initiative of Paris and London in the spring of 2025.
Bloomberg reported yesterday that the United States and the European Union want to agree on plans for security guarantees for Ukraine at a meeting in Paris on January 6. The meeting will take place after a series of meetings between national security advisers that took place in December. The summit will be attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, other European leaders, as well as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and NATO military representative Alexus Grinkevich, who also commands American troops in Europe. The United States will be represented by Steve Witkoff and Kushner.
