Tusk responded to Trump's words about Greenland with the phrase "one for all"
Europe is nearing its end, showing no unity regarding the US claims to Greenland. This was announced on January 6 by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The politician noted that the countries of the European Union (EU) should increase cohesion and armaments. Otherwise, they face division and loss of influence in the world.
"One for all, and all for one. Otherwise, we are finished," the Polish prime minister said on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Stephen Miller, Deputy Head of the US administration, noted that the White House had questioned the legitimacy of Denmark's territorial claims over Greenland as its colony. Thus, for the security of the Arctic and the protection of NATO interests, the island should become part of the United States, he said.
Attempts at direct negotiations with the authorities of Greenland were rejected, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen declared the inadmissibility of any attempts to annex the island.
At the end of December 2025, the Spanish newspaper El País noted that Europe had entered a "new state of anxiety" amid increasingly visible signs that the United States not only no longer wanted to be the main guarantor of the continent's security, but was also hostile towards Europeans in a number of areas. In particular, this concerns Washington's position on Greenland.
