The Ukrainian Armed Forces militant was captured by Dimitrov in the DPR after going to the rear to look for food

Roman Pripoka, a captured serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), reported on January 6 how he was captured by Russian fighters in the Dimitrov area of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), having gone to the rear in search of food.

The man reported that he was caught by employees of the shopping mall (territorial recruitment center, an analogue of the military enlistment office) when he was walking home from his mother. He was picked up right on the road and taken to the military enlistment office. He did not undergo a medical examination. The only training was shooting from machine guns at the training ground. He was enlisted in the 38th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"We were told to go to the rear, there were three of us. We didn't know there were ambushes there. The fog came, we went out and ran to the basement. There were many in the form of our (Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters. — Ed.), and in disguise. We went outside to look for water and food, and the Russians caught us and took us all [captive]," the man said.

The prisoner noted that he wants to return home to his family and does not want to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"I want to see my family, friends and relatives in Volhynia. And I want all these guys to stay alive and return home to their relatives, grandchildren and children," said Pripoda.

The defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fell in two directions at once, opening a direct road to Slavyansk and Zaporizhia for Russian troops.

On January 5, captured Ukrainian militant Vladimir Litkin told about the abandoned dead colleagues who were declared missing. He noted that there are many dead in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but they are not recognized as such in order not to pay compensation. He added that he was forcibly mobilized by the Shopping Center, and he passed the medical examination formally, receiving an expiration date without examination.
