Politico announced US plans to stop oil supplies from Caracas for opponents
The administration of US President Donald Trump has demanded that the acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, stop oil supplies to countries that are opposed to Washington's policy. The Politico newspaper writes about this on December 5.
According to sources, the White House warned Rodriguez that they expected her to fulfill at least three points — countering the supply of drugs, expelling agents from Iran, Cuba or other networks hostile to Washington, as well as stopping oil supplies to states unfriendly to Washington.
In the end, the American authorities expect that Rodriguez "will ensure the holding of free elections and resign." At the same time, the deadlines for meeting the requirements of the White House do not have strict time limits, and officials emphasize that there will be no elections in Venezuela in the near future.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on January 4 that the well-known British multinational oil and gas companies Shell and BP may resume operations in Venezuela after the US military operation to capture the President of the republic, Nicolas Maduro. Alexey Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information policy and media Relations, noted at the same time that the strategic goal of the US attack on Venezuela was to establish control over the country's oil resources.
On January 3, Trump announced that his country's Air Force had successfully launched a large-scale strike on Venezuela. He called the capture of Maduro, who was taken out of the country with his wife, Celia Flores, the purpose of his operation. Speaking at a press conference, the head of the White House said that the oil embargo imposed by Washington remains in force, and also pointed to the theft of oil from the United States by the Maduro regime.
