Thailand accused Cambodia of violating the ceasefire. This was reported on January 6 by Thairath, citing the Thai Ministry of Defense.

"The Second Army District reported that Cambodia violated the ceasefire by firing mortar shells at the Chong Bok area," the Facebook social network said (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

It is specified that as a result of this incident, a Thai soldier was injured.

On December 8, the Cambodian military opened fire on the Thai Anupong base. In response, the Thai army called on residents of the border areas to evacuate to shelters due to the threat of escalation of the conflict. Soon after, fighting between Thailand and Cambodia unfolded along the entire joint border.

On December 26, the Russian Embassy in Cambodia informed Izvestia that, against the background of bilateral negotiations between Thailand and Cambodia, official Phnom Penh continues to declare its commitment to a peaceful settlement of the contradictions based on the ceasefire agreement of July 28 and the Kuala Lumpur Declaration of October 26.

Thai PBS TV channel reported on December 27 that Thailand and Cambodia have signed a ceasefire agreement. It is noted that the negotiations were tense, as each side tried to work out an agreement acceptable to itself.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
