Kosachev noted the interest in Europe's position after the US statement on the western hemisphere

Russian Senator Konstantin Kosachev expressed interest in the reaction of European countries to the statement by the US State Department that the Western Hemisphere is allegedly a zone of Washington's interests. He announced this on January 5 in his Telegram channel.

"The US State Department has officially declared the western hemisphere "ours," that is, exclusively American, on its official website. In addition to the blatant contradiction with all possible and impossible norms and rules, the question arises: how will the former colonial powers from Europe, whose languages are spoken by the vast majority of the states of the western hemisphere, react to this?" wrote Kosachev.

According to him, the historical and linguistic ties of Europe with the states of the Western Hemisphere make the reaction of these countries especially interesting.

"It will be interesting to follow the comments on the official websites of the Foreign Ministries of Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and Italy," the senator added.
