- Private Nikitin destroyed a column of Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment using FPV drones
Private Yevgeny Nikitin controlled an FPV drone and was tasked with destroying a column of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which was moving towards the defensive positions of the Russian Army. On January 6, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation.
Nikitin performed the task as part of the calculation. Together with his comrades, he carried out the first raid of FPV drones on an enemy column, as a result of which the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to ten armored vehicles and pickups. The enemy tried to hide the equipment that had survived the attack in a wooded area, but Nikitin promptly contacted Russian intelligence units, which located the remnants of the enemy column. Having received the new coordinates, Nikitin and his colleagues carried out a second attack, completely eliminating the remaining equipment of the AFU column.
The Ministry of Defense also noted the professionalism of Private Marcel Galiulin, who led the calculation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and carried out the task of providing fire support to Russian attack aircraft participating in the liberation of one of the settlements in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
With the help of a drone, Galiulin carried out drops on enemy personnel concentrations, which contributed to the work of the assault groups, which managed to occupy the stronghold without losses. Galiulin then conducted aerial reconnaissance and located the reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces approaching the strongholds for a counterattack. After reporting this to headquarters, the private received an order to destroy the identified target and immediately completed the task. In total, during the clash, Galiulin destroyed up to 45 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and three units of enemy armored vehicles.
A day earlier, on January 5, the Russian Defense Ministry told how Junior Sergeant Alexander Veprev, who was wounded by shrapnel during a combat mission as part of an assault group due to the detonation of an AFU FPV drone, killed several Ukrainian militants and provided medical assistance to a wounded colleague.
