Air defense systems destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flying to Moscow. This was announced on January 5 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense destroyed a drone flying to Moscow," he wrote on the MACH messenger.

According to him, emergency services specialists are working at the crash sites of the UAV.

On January 5, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems destroyed 50 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the regions of the Russian Federation. The largest number of drones was eliminated over the territory of the Belgorod region — 44. Four more drones were destroyed over the Kursk region and two over the Lipetsk region.
