On January 5, the US State Department officially declared the Western Hemisphere an exclusive zone of its country's interests.

"This is our hemisphere," the State Department wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The message also says that US President Donald Trump will not allow the security of the United States to be jeopardized. The publication was accompanied by an image on which the phrase "This is our hemisphere" is written on top of Trump's photo.

On January 4, Andrei Klishas, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on state Construction, said that during a press conference on the United States attacks on Venezuela, the US authorities denied the right to sovereignty to all countries of the Western Hemisphere. In his speech to reporters the day before, Trump said that the United States no longer forgets about the "Monroe doctrine," which declared the Western Hemisphere a zone of exclusive U.S. interests. The document provides for non-interference of European states in Washington's affairs.
