Russian actor, director, screenwriter Andrey Khoroshev will be buried in Sukhum on January 7. This was announced on January 5 by producer Sergey Chliyants.
"Andrey [Khoroshev] will be buried in Abkhazia, at the Sukhumi cemetery. The funeral service [will take place] at St. Michael's Church, at the cemetery at 12:00 on January 7," TASS quoted Chliyants as saying.
Khoroshev died at the age of 66 on January 2. He was an active member of the Council of Fathers of the Gagarin District, led the children's television studio circle, and was awarded letters of appreciation from the Yakutia administration and the regional City Duma.
Later it became known that Khoroshev died jumping into a hot spring to save a man.
In 1983, the actor graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute with a degree in Information Systems, and in 1990 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK. He gained acting fame thanks to his roles in the films "Doctor Zhivago", "Fighter", "Admiral".
In addition, Khoroshev was the author of visual stylistics and the director of photography for the ballet film Salome by Alla Sigalova, which was nominated at the Cannes Film Festival in 1992.
Since 2002, the director has been the host of the Seekers program, and in 2016 he became the commissioner for tourism in Yakutia. He also promoted the restoration of the historical monument "Shergina Mine".
