The operator of an FPV fighter shot down a Shchedryk high-altitude drone in the Kharkiv region

An FPV fighter of the Unmanned Systems Forces (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of the Zapad group of forces eliminated an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Shchedrik model of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the territory of the Kharkiv region, which was flying towards the border with Russia. This was announced on Monday morning, January 5, by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"A multipurpose reconnaissance and attack unmanned aerial vehicle of the Shchedrik aircraft type of the Armed Forces of Ukraine heading for the state border of the Russian Federation was detected," the defense Ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that the identified object was destroyed by the calculation of the radar stations of the unit of the military air defense system (air defense) of the 27th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Western group of forces.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the destruction of three Ukrainian UAVs over Russian territory by air defense systems. The devices were detected between 23:00 Moscow time on January 4 and 07:00 Moscow time on January 5. Two drones were intercepted in the sky over the capital region and one over the Ryazan region.
