The Russian Federation will work out the possibility of mandatory mediation in case of divorce

The Russian Federation plans to prepare a proposal for a mandatory pre-trial settlement of family disputes through mediation. This is evidenced by the family policy implementation plan approved by the Russian government, which was reviewed by TASS on January 5.

It is specified that changes will be made to the federal law "On an alternative dispute settlement procedure with the participation of an intermediary (mediation procedure)". The dispute proceedings will be suspended for the duration of mediation.
