A fire in an apartment building in Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region, which started after a gas explosion, has been completely eliminated. This was announced on January 4 by the mayor Igor Kabets.

"The fire in the apartment building on Ilyicha Street has been completely eliminated. All fires have been extinguished. The victim is receiving the necessary medical care," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Kabets also noted that after meeting with the residents of the affected house and examining it, it was decided that a temporary accommodation facility was not required. Maneuverable municipal housing has been provided for one of the families.

According to the relevant services, the last scheduled inspection of the gas equipment in this house was carried out in February and at that time there were no complaints from residents. The causes of the explosion and fire are currently being determined by the investigative authorities.

A gas explosion in an apartment building in Pervouralsk occurred earlier that day. It was clarified that the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations rescued two people, five more residents evacuated on their own. 16 specialists and six pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire. Later, three people injured in the explosion were hospitalized.

A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Performing works and providing services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers").
