- More than 11 thousand residents of the Kursk region were left without electricity due to the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces UAV
After an attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on an energy facility, 115 settlements of the Kursk region were left without electricity. This was announced on January 4 by the head of the region, Alexander Khinstein.
"As a result of the damage, the power supply was disrupted in the Khomutovsky and partially Rylsky districts. 115 settlements were affected by the power outage, which is over 11 thousand consumers," Khinstein wrote.
According to him, the attack was aimed at an energy facility in the village of Khomutovka in the Khomutovsky district. Work is underway to restore the power supply, and the lights will be returned as soon as possible.
As a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' nighttime attacks on the power system of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) on January 2, over 85,000 subscribers were left without electricity. According to the first Deputy Chairman of the Government of the LPR, Yuri Govtvin, by noon the power engineers managed to restore the supply of electricity through backup schemes for 4,9 thousand consumers. It was expected that by the end of the day, electricity would return to the homes of about 40 thousand subscribers.
