A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces improved their tactical position and defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of settlements in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The enemy lost up to 140 people, three vehicles and a field artillery piece. Three warehouses of material assets were destroyed.

As a result of active actions, the military personnel of the Zapad group of forces took control of the village of Podoly, Kharkiv region. Enemy manpower and equipment were also hit in the areas of settlements in the Kharkiv region and the DPR. The enemy's losses amounted to 180 soldiers, two armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles, a 155-mm M198 howitzer made in the United States and three ammunition depots.

The southern group of troops improved the situation along the front line and defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a number of settlements of the DPR. The enemy lost more than 180 fighters, a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier, seven armored combat vehicles and 14 vehicles. Two warehouses of material assets and a fuel warehouse were destroyed.

Units of the Center group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, and also hit Ukrainian formations in the vicinity of settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the DPR. Enemy losses totaled up to 410 people, an armored personnel carrier, four Cossack armored vehicles, seven pickup trucks, a 105-mm M119 cannon and an AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radar manufactured in the United States.

The Vostok group of troops continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades were defeated in the area of settlements in the Zaporizhia region. The enemy lost up to 275 soldiers, nine armored combat vehicles and five vehicles.

Units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated formations of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Orekhov, Zaporizhia region, Sadovoye, Kherson region and the city of Kherson. Up to 35 Ukrainian militants, 11 vehicles and an electronic warfare station were destroyed.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated workshops for the production, assembly of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles and their storage sites, ammunition depots, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 156 areas.

A guided aerial bomb and 210 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 107213 unmanned aerial vehicles, 642 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,895 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,636 multiple rocket launchers, 32372 field artillery and mortars, 50778 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
