The battalion of the 1st Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was transferred to the command of the 71st Jaeger Brigade during the frontline reshuffle to participate in the assault operations in the Sumy region. This was announced on December 4 by a source in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"A battalion of the 1st separate heavy mechanized brigade has been transferred to the command of the 71st separate Jaeger brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as attack aircraft," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

It is specified that the transferred personnel are likely to be involved in the "meat assaults" of the settlements of Varachino and Alekseevka.
