Fico called the US military operation in Venezuela proof of the destruction of the world order.

The military operation launched by US President Donald Trump against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is yet another proof of the destruction of the world order that was established after World War II. This was announced on January 4 by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.

"The US military actions in Venezuela are yet another evidence of the destruction of the world order created after World War II. International law does not apply, military force is used without a mandate from the UN Security Council, and everyone who is great and strong does whatever they want to promote their own interests," he wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Fico also stated that he rejects actions that are aimed at undermining international law. He stressed that he would be interested to know how representatives of the European Union (EU) would react to this "reprehensible attack." According to the Slovak Prime Minister, there are two ways his colleagues can go: either strongly condemn the United States, or remain Pharisees.

Military bases and infrastructure facilities were attacked

The US launched a large-scale strike on Venezuela, which killed at least 40 people, became known on the same day. At the same time, Trump announced the capture of the President of the republic, Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, who were later taken to New York. The American leader said that his state intends to rule Venezuela until it can implement a "safe, proper and reasonable transition of power." However, he did not specify the duration of the country's leadership during the transition period.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), asked on January 3 if European politicians would respond to the statement by the head of the White House, Donald Trump, regarding the transition period in Venezuela, and also called the EU values fake.
