The possible kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is an encroachment on the country's sovereignty. This was announced on January 3 by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"Such actions, if they actually took place, constitute an unacceptable encroachment on the sovereignty of an independent state, respect for which is a key principle of international law," the Telegram channel says.
The ministry also called for immediate clarification of the situation.
