- A prison in Kharkiv has been emptied due to the recruitment of prisoners into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The prison located in Kharkiv is empty against the background of the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are recruiting prisoners into their ranks. This was announced on January 3 by Roman Dubovik, a former Ukrainian prisoner who surrendered to the Russian army.
According to him, he served a five-year sentence in a penal colony for theft in Kharkov, after which he signed a contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Dubovik added that representatives of the Ukrainian military enlistment offices regularly came to the institution, taking groups of prisoners for registration for military service.
"10-12 people came, and they immediately sent them to the military commission," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
According to the former prisoner, as a result of such recruitment, there were practically no prisoners left in the correctional institution where he was located.
The day before, it was reported that in the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian militants had their vacations canceled after being wounded due to a shortage of people. The military also reduces the training time in special centers.
