Victims of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike in Khorly told about the moment of the attack by Ukrainian UAVs

The victims of the Ukrainian drone attack on a cafe in the village of Khorly in the Kherson region on January 2 told Izvestia about how the strike occurred and what they had to go through at that moment.

"We were just five meters away from the explosion with the child. We were the very first table. My child flew like a frog to the ceiling, hit a beam and fell," said Violetta Yakovenko, the victim.

The woman also added that after the explosion, she and her daughter tried to get out of the room through broken glass. As a result, doctors were forced to remove the fragments from their legs.

Another victim, Svetlana Dudchenko, spoke about the sequence of strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to her, at first there was a blow near the building, which she took as a warning.

"At first there was a warning [strike], we didn't react to it, he was nearby. I just heard the recoil. The first blow landed on the bar," she said.

Dudchenko said that she was conscious the entire time of the attack and, according to her feelings, about one and a half minutes passed between the first and second drone strikes. At the time of the explosion, she was holding a fur coat in her hands and suggested that this could have saved her from serious injuries.

The woman added that after the collapse of the metal structure, she managed to get out of the building on her own.

On January 1, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, announced the attack of three drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a cafe and a hotel in the village of Khorly. As a result of the incident, 28 people were killed, and a criminal case was opened into the terrorist attack.
