Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, demanded a report on the investigation of the criminal case that was opened into the shooting in Podolsk. This was announced on January 1 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the head of the GSU (State Investigative Department. — Ed.) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Moscow, Yaroslav Alexandrovich Yakovlev, to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

It is specified that the execution is controlled by the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

On December 31, 2025, the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Moscow Region reported that the shooting occurred during a scuffle between a group of people in the Klimovsk microdistrict in Podolsk. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers established that there had been a quarrel between two groups of citizens, which escalated into shooting.
