Yuri Knutov, a military expert and director of the Museum of the Air Defense Forces, said in an interview with Izvestia on January 1 that after the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a cafe and hotel in the Kherson region, retaliatory strikes should be expected from Russian troops.
"There should be retaliatory strikes — there is no doubt about that. First of all, the Nazi battalions," said Knutov.
He stressed that the organizers and perpetrators of the attack on civilians in Khorlakh had shown particular cruelty and should be punished. According to the expert, it is necessary to identify all those involved in the adoption and execution of this decision.
On January 1, 24 people died in Khorly, Kherson region, as a result of a strike by three Ukrainian drones on a cafe and a hotel. Six victims, including children, are in serious condition. In addition, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case in accordance with Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). According to the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the region, 19 people remain in hospitals.
