About 500,000 people in Istanbul took part in a pro-Palestinian rally in support of residents of the Gaza Strip. This was reported on January 1 by The Times of Israel newspaper.
The demonstrators waved Turkish and Palestinian flags, chanting "We will not be silent, we will not forget Palestine."
It is specified that representatives of more than 400 civil society organizations attended the rally, one of the organizers of which was Bilal Erdogan, the youngest son of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"We pray that 2026 will bring good to our entire nation and the oppressed Palestinians," said Bilal Erdogan.
Last October, thousands of people protested in support of the Gaza Strip in Sydney, Australia. It was clarified that, according to the organizers, 30 thousand people took part in the action.
