The Ministry of Defense showed footage of a New Year's Eve meeting between soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces on the front line

The servicemen of the Dnepr group of forces celebrated the New Year on the front line in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions — they received letters and gifts from their compatriots, decorated a Christmas tree and set a festive table. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed relevant footage on January 1.

In the video, you can see how the chefs of the departments prepare traditional salads served at the New Year's table — olivier and crab. They are located in a small kitchen with a Russian flag hanging on the walls. The room is decorated with a Christmas tree and tinsel. On the table of the Russian soldiers, in addition to the main dishes and snacks, there are tangerines and sweets in bowls. The soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces, as reported in the department, were given a choice between red fish with mashed potatoes and goulash at the gala dinner.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that even on the festive night, the servicemen continued to be on combat duty at air surveillance posts and positions on the line of contact, so receiving gifts from Russians, representatives of the defense ministry and letters of congratulations from children, which were delivered by field mail, was a pleasant moment for them.

"We have special military equipment, which we call by the abbreviation NRTK (ground-based robotic complex. — Ed.) <...> traditionally, we will deliver gifts on New Year's Eve. This is also humanitarian aid, these are also, I say, parcels from home, here, and direct award gifts from the Russian Ministry of Defense, for every soldier on the front line and not only...> No one will be left without gifts," said the senior chef with the call sign Sensei.

The soldier, having completed his story about the delivery of provisions and presents to the front line, congratulated the Russians on the New Year. He wished the citizens of the Russian Federation a peaceful sky over their heads and family happiness, and also sent greetings to the mothers, grandmothers, sisters, spouses and daughters who are waiting for them.

The ministry clarified that creating a festive atmosphere in a combat zone allows Russian soldiers to feel at home. This, as it is emphasized, significantly increases the moral and psychological state of the fighters and helps them to continue to successfully carry out combat missions in the future.

The servicemen of the 114th Guards Brigade of the 51st Army of the Center group of forces a day earlier, on December 31, 2025, also congratulated their fellow citizens on the New Year, 2026. So, Sergeant Georgy Letodiani wished that all the sons who take part in their military operations would return home as soon as possible, and his colleague Lieutenant Mikhail Karpov, addressing his comrades, wished them combat coordination and progress only forward.
