According to the newspaper, there have also been no significant changes in the context of the country's accession to the EU this year. It is noted that the "ambitious goal" of completing accession negotiations by 2028 is becoming unattainable for the Ukrainian side.

On December 10, The Washington Post newspaper indicated that Ukraine could be admitted to the EU as early as 2027 in order to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on December 8 that the EU intends to speed up the procedure for Ukraine's admission and is targeting 2030 as the target date for its entry, which in fact will be the beginning of a direct conflict with Russia.
