In Kaliningrad, the organizer of sabotage in Russia was sentenced to 24 years in prison

The Baltic Naval Military Court in Kaliningrad sentenced to 24 years in prison the organizer of a subversive community acting in the interests of foreign intelligence. This was announced on December 30 by the court's press service.

"S., being an opponent of the SVO, supporting the ideology of violence, during the mobilization period conducted confidential cooperation with an unidentified representative of foreign intelligence, together with the latter, for selfish reasons, in order to support terrorism, undermine the economic security and defense capability of the Russian Federation, and counteract the SVO, created a sabotage community to commit sabotage, led the activities of the sabotage community, organized the commission of sabotage and their financing, directed the commission of sabotage," the court's page on the VKontakte social network says.

According to the investigation, dozens of arson attacks were committed on railway infrastructure and communications facilities in various regions of Russia under the leadership of the convict and his foreign supervisor. The accused also engaged in espionage by giving a foreign agent information about the location of a military unit and an armament depot in the Kaliningrad region.

In addition, as an employee of a mobile operator, he illegally received and transferred subscribers' personal data for money, as well as reissued their SIM cards. According to the court's statement, his accomplice G. participated in the activities of a sabotage group and organized the arson of several railway infrastructure facilities.

The court found the defendants guilty of high treason, creation of a sabotage community, organization of sabotage and unlawful access to computer information. The organizer of the criminal group was fined 800 thousand rubles, his accomplice — 200 thousand rubles and imprisonment for 18 years. Both were also given a restriction of freedom and a ban on the administration of websites and channels on the Internet for several years.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that four residents of the Krasnodar Territory were sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for committing crimes at railway infrastructure facilities. The court found Semyon Shipulin, Arman Hayrapetyan, Daniil Evseev and Maxim Yaglov guilty under Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Sabotage"). In December 2022, they set fire to the railway equipment at the Loris station and the driver's cabin at the Krasnodar-Sortirovochnaya station, receiving a total of 120 thousand rubles for this.
