- Turkmenistan condemns the attempted attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the residence of the President of the Russian Federation
Turkmenistan condemns the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced on December 30 by the press service of the country's Foreign Ministry.
"In connection with reports of an attack on the residence of the Russian President, the Turkmen side expresses concern and condemns such actions that threaten international security and stability, especially against the background of efforts being made to resolve the conflict through negotiations," the Turkmen Foreign Ministry wrote on its website.
The Ministry stressed that Turkmenistan, as a state with the status of permanent neutrality of the United Nations, supports "the need to resolve any international issues only through peaceful, political and diplomatic means and methods."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said yesterday that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had carried out a drone attack on Putin's residence in the Novgorod region. According to the diplomat, 91 UAVs were destroyed by the air defense forces. There was no information about the victims or the damage received. At the same time, he added that Russia does not intend to withdraw from the negotiation process with the United States on Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen noted that Ukraine's attempts to attack the residence of the Russian president indicate Kiev's panic and desperation. He expressed the opinion that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky is seeking to disrupt negotiations on a settlement of the conflict and is once again choosing a terrorist path.
