A memorial was opened in Belgorod in memory of 25 residents who died as a result of the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on December 30, 2023. The footage is at the disposal of Izvestia.

The monument depicts a winged angel holding a wounded child in his arms. Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the region, clarified that the monument was consecrated by the head of the Belgorod Archdiocese, Bishop John.

"Today's opening of the monument is our heartfelt memory of the dead and an edification for future generations," John emphasized.

Izvestia correspondent Evgeny Bykovsky also said that the monument is located on the site of the previously installed art object "The Heart of Belgorod".

On December 10, Alexey Chebanenko, a sculptor at the Grekov Studio of Military Artists, said that a monument to North Korean servicemen who participated in defending the region from the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be erected in the Kursk region. Currently, sculptors are choosing the place where the monument will be placed.
