The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the procedure for assigning annual payments to families with children

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved the procedure for assigning annual payments to families with children. The relevant document was published on December 30 on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"Each of the working parents with two or more children under the age of 18 or under the age of 23 who study full-time will be able to receive such additional support. At the same time, the average per capita income in a family should be lower than one and a half regional subsistence levels," the document says.

It is noted that the payment will be sent by the end of the year. Its amount will be more than half of the income taxes that the parents paid for the year. At the same time, the reduced rate to 6% will be taken into account when calculating the payout amount.

Single benefit from January 1, 2026: new accrual rules and payment amounts

Starting in 2026, sick leave and maternity payments will be counted as labor income.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on December 19 that the current systems of measures to support families with children need to be improved. Russia will strive to raise salaries and ensure that the incomes of families with children do not fall with an increase in labor and other incomes, the head of state noted.
