The Mi-34M1 light multipurpose helicopter, equipped with a Russian VK-650V engine, made its first test flight. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in the Telegram channel.

Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec State Corporation, said that the Mi-34M1 helicopter, due to its lightness, can be used for monitoring, flight training, aviation sports, as well as for passenger transportation. It is noted that during the tests, the stability and controllability of the Mi-34M1 were checked.

"This is another great event for the domestic aircraft industry, which proves that Russia is able and able to build aircraft of various types. The Mi-34M1 is highly maneuverable, easy to pilot and maintain. The main purpose of this machine is passenger transportation, monitoring, flight training, and aviation sports," Chemezov is quoted as saying on Rostec's website.

On December 24, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that the first flight of the Baikal aircraft was recognized as successful. The ministry clarified that during the flight, the aircraft reached a speed of 210 km/ h and an altitude of 400 m. The new power plant, developed by UZGA JSC, should occupy a niche in which engines had not previously been mass-produced in Russia.
