The national standard, which includes the safe parameters of both tubing slides and their corresponding inflatable sleds and "cheesecakes" for skiing, appeared on the territory of the Russian Federation. This was announced on Tuesday, December 30, by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, Tatyana Butskaya.

"Now you can come to any slide with any tubing, with any cheesecake, and you don't know how this trip will end. Every year, the number of injuries on the slides associated with these cheesecakes increases, and tubing is the most dangerous type of winter outdoor fun, because often this rest ends, unfortunately, in a hospital bed," she said in an interview with TASS.

The deputy noted that the developed rules took into account all the requirements for both manufacturers and distributors of attributes for this type of winter fun. The regulations will be read out to them, as explained by Butskaya, after the New Year. According to her, a specific type of "cheesecakes" will be assigned to each tubing slide. In addition, there will be requirements for the descent itself — it must not lead to the roadway, reservoirs, forests, trees and concrete fences, and must also be equipped with a clear exit.

The corresponding GOST is called "Tubing slides. Additional safety requirements and test methods" was, as specified, approved by Rosstandart.

On December 23, Artem Khisamov, Deputy Chief Physician for the medical department of the A.S. Puchkov Ambulance and Emergency Medical Care station, said during a press conference on "Safety during the New Year holidays", which was held at the Izvestia News Center, that most people get injured in winter due tofor falling on icy roads and riding downhill. The expert clarified that if a person lost his balance and fell, he should be examined and, if a damaged limb is found, fixed. After that, he added, it is possible to give the victim painkillers and seek medical help.
