ROSSETI will strengthen control over electricity supply in the south of Russia during the New Year holidays

Andrey Ryumin, the head of Rosseti, held a meeting on ensuring reliable electricity supply to the macroregion during the New Year holidays as part of his working trip to the Southern Federal District (SFD). Plans for infrastructure development and the completion of the merger of subsidiaries ROSSETI Yug and ROSSETI Kuban were also discussed. This was reported by the press service of PJSC ROSSETI.

It was noted that a record tourist flow is expected for the holidays in the Southern Federal District — more than 500 thousand people will visit the Krasnodar Territory alone. The massive use of electrical appliances in hotels and restaurants, large volumes of work by transport companies and shops will lead to an increase in the load on the energy system.

"This year, we have significantly increased the size of the repair program in the southern regions, allocating more than 10.5 billion rubles for its financing. Now it is necessary to strengthen control over grid facilities and ensure prompt response to any power supply disruptions. Special attention should be paid to resort areas and transport infrastructure," Ryumin said.

More than 1.3 thousand brigades are ready to carry out emergency recovery operations, which is more than 7 thousand people and 3 thousand pieces of equipment. In case of emergency situations, power supply to consumers can be provided from 578 backup sources with a total capacity of 68 MW.

Also, the Rosseti branch — MES of the South and the subsidiary Rosseti Yug continue to work on infrastructure development. In particular, in 2025, several large-scale projects were implemented in the Kuban, Rostov and Volgograd regions. The priority of 2026, as Ryumin emphasized, will be the introduction of high-capacity electricity storage systems in the Southern Federal District. In addition, it is planned to launch substations that will strengthen the electricity supply scheme in Krasnodar.
