Military personnel of the Zapad group of forces repelled five counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kupyansk area within two days. This was announced on December 27 by the head of the press center of the group of forces, Ivan Bigma.

"Within two days, five enemy counterattacks were repelled in the Kupyansk area in the areas of the settlements of Blagodatovka, Prokopovka, Osinovo, Boldyrevka and Monachinovka. All counterattacks were repelled, and no loss of territory was allowed," he said.

It is noted that during the repulse of the counterattacks, two American M113 armored personnel carriers and a Panther armored car were destroyed. 20 Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters were also killed.

In 2025, the Russian army liberated more than 300 settlements, and the potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decreased by a third.

Earlier, the Russian military said that they continue to destroy small gangs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kupyansk. Buildings and basements are being cleared of scattered enemy groups.
