Ryabkov urged to think about preventing war in Europe
Russia urges us to think not about when there will be a war in Europe, but about ways to prevent it. This was announced on December 26 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
"We still urge you to think not about when a big war might break out, but about what needs to be done to prevent it," he said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
He added that politicians who expect to defeat Russia in an open conflict are deeply mistaken.
"They forget or deliberately pretend not to notice that in this case we are talking about an attempt to defeat a nuclear power. This is by definition impossible," Ryabkov said.
Earlier in the day, Belarusian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin said that Western countries were preparing for military action. At the same time, Khrenin stressed that despite the aggressive policies of European countries, Belarus is ready for dialogue.
On December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during the "Results of the Year" in the direct line format, said that the statements of the head of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) Mark Rutte about an alleged possible war with the Russian Federation were nonsense.
